Nick Peralta Will Lead Sage Hill Girls’ Flag Football

By Daniel Langhorne
Sage Hill Athletics has tapped Nick Peralta as the first head coach of Lightning Girls’ Flag Football, which is scheduled to kick off in Fall 2024.

Peralta most recently served as the assistant coach at Orange Lutheran High School, where he helped launch a Flag Football program in 2023. He’s also previously coached at University High School.

For the last five years, Peralta has also coached athletes in first through eighth grades for Matt Leinart Flag Football. He recently moved into coaching 12U and 14U athletes at Conquer Club, one of only two active Orange County clubs for Girls’ Flag Football.

“I’m very excited to create a positive culture and lasting traditions while giving Sage Hill student athletes the best experience possible,” Peralta said. “My dream is to build a strong foundation for the program so these girls have football not only as an option for a sport in high school, but hopefully in college as well.”

Peralta earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal State University, Fullerton. He has worked in the fitness industry since 2014 and started his own sports performance training company in 2020. Peralta not only coaches flag football, but also plays in Orange County recreational adult leagues.

“We are thrilled to bring Coach Peralta on to lead Lightning Girls’ Flag Football in its inaugural season,” Director of Athletics Megan Cid said. “Coach Peralta’s experience, values, passion for teaching the game and connection to the greater community will be vital as we build this program.”

Coach Peralta will host a meeting for current Sage Hill students interested in participating in Girls’ Flag Football on Tuesday, April 9 at 11:30 AM in the MMLH.
