Unleash the athlete in you at our new Lightning Athletics Academy, a dynamic athletic camp that awaits to stoke your passion for sports. This weeklong camp for students ages 10-14 or entering grades 5-8 in the Fall of 2024 is thoughtfully structured into two sessions, morning and afternoon. Each session will offer a thrilling combination of agility work and team-building activities, followed by a customized training session in the sport(s) of your choosing. 

The Lightning Athletics Academy runs for five weeklong sessions from June 24 to July 26, 2024.

Full-Day: Runs from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Cost is $500 per week (with the exception of Week 2, July 1-3, which is $300 due to the Fourth of July holiday) and includes a daily lunch and Lightning Athletics swag.

Half-Day: Runs from either 8:00 to 11:30 AM or 12:30 to 3:00 PM. Cost is $275 per week (with the exception of Week 2, July 1-3, which is $165 due to the Fourth of July holiday). Lunch is not included for half-day camps.

Basketball (morning only during Weeks 4 and 5)

Volleyball (morning only during Weeks 4 and 5)
Water Polo/Swim (Weeks 1 and 2 only)

Full-day campers will choose up to two sports for their customized, sport-specific sessions. You can choose two different sports, or focus on one sport all day. Half-day campers will choose one sport only. 

Note: The Lightning Athletics Academy is not for beginner athletes. This athletic camp is intended for intermediate to advanced young athletes who plan to play their sport(s) in high school.

What to Expect

The morning and afternoon sessions each include: 

Agility Work with Team-Building Concepts (1 hour)
Dive into the world of speed, agility and teamwork during the initial phase of our Lightning Athletics Academy. Participants from across all sports will engage together in adrenaline-pumping relay races, conquer challenging agility courses, and participate in collaborative team-building exercises. These activities aim to enhance agility, communication skills, and foster a strong camaraderie among participants.

Training Session for Your Sport(s) of Play (1.5 hours)
The second half of each session allows participants to split up and dig deeper into the sport(s) of their choosing. Our expert coaches are ready to guide you through sport-specific drills, techniques and mini-games tailored to your athletic preferences.

Key Objectives
Team Building: Develop teamwork and communication skills through interactive exercises, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in sports and life.

Agility and Coordination: Improve overall athleticism by engaging in relay races and agility courses designed to enhance speed, flexibility and coordination.

Sport-Specific Training: Get personalized coaching in your chosen sport(s) for the week, whether it's soccer, baseball, basketball, flag football, volleyball, girls’ lacrosse or water polo/swim. Participants will refine their skills and gain insights from experienced instructors.

Fun and Inclusive: Create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere where participants can celebrate their love for sports, share experiences, and make lasting memories with fellow athletes.

Daily Schedule

8:00 - 8:30 AM: Drop off
8:30 - 9:00 AM: Town Square welcome
9:00 - 11:30 AM: Morning Session
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Lunch & Optional Activities
12:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Afternoon Session
3:00 PM: Pickup Begins
3:00 - 4:00 PM: Optional Extended Day*

*Extend your day with an optional hour from 3:00 to 4:00 PM! During this time, campers will participate in a variety of activities, including a pool party or outdoor games. Lifeguards will be on duty for all pool activities, but all campers must have basic water safety skills.
 
All campers must be picked up by 4:00 PM.
