  • Welcome from the Head of School Patricia Merz

I invite you to learn more about the transformative journey Sage Hill offers our students. I fully appreciate that parents entrust us with their teenagers’ academic and personal growth at a critical juncture. This is why the School focuses so intently on building a closely knit community that fosters both academic and personal development. Sage Hill offers our students a rich and dynamic curriculum that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Outside the classroom, students are encouraged to participate in athletics, explore their artistic abilities, and engage in the world beyond our campus through service to the community, internships and educational travel.

  • Community Outreach

Our founders believed strongly that lack of financial resources should not prevent qualified candidates from having the opportunity to attend Sage Hill School. The School’s first donation - long before we had a physical campus - was to fund financial assistance. Sage Hill School is committed to creating a campus community that reflects the wider Orange County community and currently, approximately 14% of students receive financial assistance. All financial assistance is based on need, rather than merit or special skills such as arts or athletics, and does not require repayment.
  • Our Spectacular Campus

I am inspired daily by this dynamic, vibrant community housed on a 28+ acre campus that features inviting classrooms, wide open spaces, state of the art arts and athletics facilities, a recently renovated library designed to inspire creativity and collaboration, and so much more!
  • Prepared for Success in College and Beyond

The value of the Sage Hill experience is apparent when alumni return to campus and speak about following their passions in college and beyond. Sage Hill undoubtedly gives our students the tools to be successful in college and in whatever they pursue afterward. Using the foundation they’ve built and inspiration they’ve gained at Sage Hill School, our alumni are making their mark on the world.

One notable feature of Sage Hill alumni is that they show a particular interest in entrepreneurship. Six Sage Hill graduates have been featured a total of seven times on the prestigious and intensely competitive annual Forbes 30 Under 30 list, whose members are described as “revolutionaries in 20 industries changing the course — and the face — of business and society.”
  • The Transformational Journey Begins Here

Our dedicated teachers inspire a love of learning and ensure each student maximizes their potential by investing deeply in each student’s success. More than half of our faculty hold advanced degrees and all demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional development. Our academic curriculum includes a variety of courses that reflect both traditional best practices and innovative techniques, featuring more than 30 accelerated/ AP courses and intriguing electives such as 3D Design and Fabrication, Financial Literacy, Organic Chemistry and a Storyteller’s Workshop.

In addition, our dynamic and individualized programs, such as the Ninth Grade Experience and Advisory, give our students the personal touch that allows them to become the best version of themselves.

The Hamoui Family Sage Center, established in 2016,  is the hub of innovative and experiential teaching and learning within and beyond the Sage Hill campus. Sage Center programs include Service LearningSpring at Sage (a seminar and educational travel program that takes place at the end of the school year), the Sage Hill Internship Program and initiatives around diversity, equity and inclusivity. The Hamoui Family Sage Center also promotes the development and measurement of  the “Six Cs.” These six essential skills for future success - Character, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical thinking and Cross-cultural competency - are included across all of Sage Hill’s academic and co-curricular programming. Coupling our college preparatory curriculum and focus on mastery with an accepting and encouraging community, it's clear that over the course of four years, a Sage Hill education transforms lives.
We love to open our campus to share with members of the greater Orange County community. We host numerous athletic camps and events in our pool, gym, fields and tennis courts and offer our beautiful indoor and outdoor gathering spaces to local non-profit organizations for use at low or no cost. Our robust summer camp and summer academic program are open to any student in grades 5 through 12, and we also host events for the public such as our Sage Center Speaker Series and GEMfest, a day-long empowerment conference for middle school girls, and more. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon.

Warm regards,

Patricia Merz
