Sage Center Speaker Series: The Purpose of Creativity in Our Culture Today

Our second virtual Sage Center Speaker Series event will be a panel discussion with current students and alumni from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20 called “The Purpose of Creativity in Our Culture Today.”

Why do we need creativity in our lives? Creativity, a key engineer for facilitating social harmony, sustainable human development, technological invention and scientific revolution, is manifested in human activities at different levels, from everyday life to the visual and performing arts to advanced technological industries. In a time when so many people find themselves in “survival mode,” let’s discuss the purpose of creativity in our culture today.
 
The moderators will be Ashley Sarkisian ‘20 and Luca White-Matthews ‘19. Panelists include Broadway actor Jonathan Gordon ‘07, playwright Eric Marlin ‘09, sound producer/engineer Jacob Fish ‘16, app developer Jackie Ni ‘20, cellist Ashley Chung ‘20, theater actor and visual artist Selene Shankle ‘20 and photographer Linda Hachim ‘20. Also speaking will be theater, television and voice actress January LaVoy.
