Sage Wins First Division Two Play-Off Match in Girls Tennis

Sage Hill, just moved to CIF D2, edged Villa Park in the first round of girl’s team tennis play-offs 11-7. Seniors Kimberly Brown and Molly Wang swept at #2 doubles (losing only 1 game) while senior Lauren Hus and freshmen Jaclyn Gerschultz along with #3 doubles team of sophomores Amira Tarsadia and Natalie Meltzer each took 2 of 3 matches as the Lightning doubles teams took 7 of 9 matches. Senior #1 singles player Liana Korber and freshman #2 singles player Celine Wang each took 2 of 3 sets to give Sage 11 wins. Junior Briana Rayhaun lost all three matches at #3 singles.

Villa Park’s #1 singles player R. Kim swept and #1 doubles team of K. Pearson and N. Halcrow took 2 of 3 for five wins while J. Cradle at #2 singles and A. Burreda at #3 singles each took 1 of 3 for Villa Park’s 7 wins.
