Malibu, CA – Sage Hill lead 4-2 after the first round and 8-4 after the second round as the Lighting took four matches each round for a 12-6 victory over the Sharks. Sage singles players Liana Korber, Kimberly Brown, and Casey Astorino were all able to defeat Malibu’s number three player but could not make a dent in their number one and two singles players, Beitta Mosser and Lauren Louk. Sage more than made up in the doubles sweeping all three lines to take all nine doubles points. This is the fourth time Sage and Malibu have played in the post season. Malibu defeated Sage 10-8, two seasons in a row in the semi-finals with Malibu going on to win CIF. The third encounter Sage won 12-6 and went on to win their first CIF title. Sage Hill will play either San Luis Obispo or the number four seed Redlands on Tuesday, site to be determined.
