Lightning Strikes Thrice For New Athletics Program Directors
Sage Hill has tapped three Lightning Athletics program directors to take the helm as the school prepares to launch its inaugural year of upper and middle school sports.
Lightning Athletics welcomed Michelle Feliciano as Program Director for Girls’ Volleyball, Jet Julian as the Program Director for Girls’ Basketball and Bryan Orta as Program Director for Girls’ Flag Football. The trio will concurrently serve as Physical Health instructors.
“The hiring of these three outstanding coaches demonstrates Sage Hill’s commitment to excellence, growth and dedication in athletics,” Director of Athletics Megan Cid said. “We congratulate our new program directors and wish them success on the court and field in this coming school year.”
Feliciano will be head coach for indoor volleyball in the fall and beach volleyball in the spring. She attended University of Denver, Colorado where she played NCAA Division 1 women’s volleyball and earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She went on to serve as assistant coach for women’s volleyball at Concordia University, Irvine while completing her master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration. She was most recently Director of Operations, Head Coach and Lead Clinician at Prime Volleyball Club while also serving as the Associate Head Coach for girls’ volleyball at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.
Coach Jet most recently served as the Interim Head Coach for Sage Hill Girls’ Basketball, leading the team to the highest rankings in program history at the county, state and national levels. In recognition of his outstanding leadership, he was also named the LA Times Daily Pilot Coach of the Year for 2025-26. He brings a wide range of coaching experience at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. He also coached with the Philippines National Team, working with the U18 and U16 girls’ teams.
Coach Orta comes to Sage Hill from coaching the 14U and 12U teams at Conquer, one of the nation’s premier girls’ flag football programs. Under his leadership, those teams earned impressive 4th- and 8th-place finishes at Nationals this past year. Coach Orta also served as varsity defensive coordinator for the elite football program at Villa Park High School, while simultaneously running the highly regarded feeder program, PrimeTime.
Sage Hill launched Lightning Athletics Academy, its signature middle school athletics summer camp, two years ago and has seen tremendous interest from Orange County families. Sage Hill is set to kick off a middle school athletics program that will compete in the TriWay League, which includes Pegasus, Calvary Christian, Anneliese Schools, Fairmont, Tarbut V’Torah, New Horizon, Carden Hall, Heritage Oak and Oakridge Private.
