Boys' Varsity Baseball Team Set School Record
Sage Hill Boys' Varsity Baseball won their 16th straight game April 19 to set a school record. The team defeated St. Margaret's 7-1 at San Juan Sports Park. St. Margaret's travels to Hague Field at Sage Hill Friday, April 22, for a rematch at 3:15 PM.
The Sage Hill Boys' Varsity Baseball team is 17-1 and 5-0 in league play. "Yesterday was a big win for us,” said Sage Hill Baseball Coach Dominic Campeau. “We spent the last two weeks battling without our Cal signee Conner Bock, who provides the thunder in our lineup. Having him back takes pressure off our pitching staff and forces the other team to approach our lineup differently. Winning 16 games shows how hard working and consistent our boys have been all season. Hopefully, we can win another 10 in a row and be crowned academy league champs as well as CIF champs,” he added.
During yesterday’s game junior Brett Super achieved his seventh win of the season. He pitched a shutout until the seventh inning when a run scored. Super also had a solo homerun. Freshman pitcher Ashwin Chona also has seven wins this season and will take on the St. Margaret Tartans this Friday.
