Alumnus Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 List

Sage Hill Alumnus Jeff Cruttenden, ’05, was recently named to Forbes 30 Under 30 list which includes 600 young entrepreneurs and leaders. Those named to the 30 Under 30 list are chosen from more than 15,000 nominations.

Cruttenden is co-founder of Acorns, a robo-investing app with more than 1.3 million signups. Using Acorns, investors can automatically invest spare change from everyday purchases into a diversified portfolio.

Cruttenden co-founded Acorns with his father, Walter, "to radically simplify and democratize investing," according to Acorns' website. The idea for the app was developed while Jeff was in college and he realized that most of his classmates could not come up with the lump sum needed to meet minimum balance requirements.

Cruttenden graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Mathematics from Lewis & Clark College.
