Chickens, Science and Health in Spotlight for Visiting Kindergarten Class
Sage Hill hosted kindergarteners from The Pegasus School on Monday, November 16. The children joined Sage Hill students, the Physical Health and Wellness team -- Merja Connolly and Amy Ray as well as Science teacher Lauren Fieberg -- for a fun morning of activities and learning.
The Pegasus students took a yoga class and performed down dog, up dog, seated twists and other relaxing yoga poses while watching Sage Hill students demonstrate the proper form. The kindergarteners also participated in the SageFit workout where they rotated through stations manned by Sage Hill students.
Next, the children visited the organic garden outside of the Lisa Argyros and Family Science Center where they toured the chicken coop, held and pet the birds, and learned about what chickens eat. They also discovered fun facts about soil and worms with the help of Fieberg and her students.
