Food Science Lab

This is a fun, hands-on course for campers to discover science concepts through everyday foods! Science labs will include seeing foods under the microscope, studying the chemistry of food dyes in candy such as M&Ms, and engineering challenges like building towers with marshmallows and spaghetti. 
Week 1, July 6-10 
This is a fun, hands-on course for campers to discover science concepts through everyday foods! Science labs will include seeing foods under the microscope, studying the chemistry of food dyes in candy such as M&Ms, and engineering challenges like building towers with marshmallows and spaghetti. In addition to the labs, students will engage in enrichment activities that strengthen their understanding of the life and physical sciences, such as building molecules with a molecular model kit.
