Laney Tucker
Laney Tucker (2024) is an associate in the Real Estate Group at ReedSmith.
Her practice focuses on acquisitions and dispositions of properties, leasing, financing on both lender and borrower sides, and joint venture agreements for various asset classes, including commercial, office, multi-family residential, industrial and hospitality. Laney previously worked as the Vice President & Senior Counsel of Retail Properties at The Irvine Company, and uses her experience as in-house counsel to better serve her clients.
Laney is fluent in Spanish and has worked on overseas real estate development deals in Latin America. She also uses her Spanish as a part of her robust pro bono practice, and has formed part of teams who won asylum cases on behalf of Central and South American clients.
In addition to her pro bono work, Laney is very involved in her local Southern California community, serving as a member of the Harvesters in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, and a member of the Steering Committee of the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation Witte Hall Capital Campaign.
Laney is a 2009 graduate of Sage Hill School, where she served as the Co-Chair of the Student Ambassador Program and Co-Captain of the Varsity Tennis Team. After Sage Hill, Laney attended Emory University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
