Sage Center Speaker Series - Gene Luen Yang Presents "Culture and Comics"

Gene Luen Yang, an Asian American cartoonist and author, will join the 2026-27 Sage Center Speaker Series. Among his many comics and graphic novels, Yang wrote the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" comics series for Dark Horse Comics. A MacArthur fellow, Yang advocates for the use of comics and graphic novels as educational tools in classrooms, emphasizing this popular media's efficacy at inspiring readers through intermediary, visual storytelling.
