    Bio
     
    Megan Cid joined the Sage Hill staff in 2003 as junior varsity girls’ soccer coach, and she currently serves as the Director of Athletics and coach. She earned her B.S. in exercise and sports science from Vanguard University. As a three-sport varsity athlete in high school, she competed in volleyball, soccer and softball and was Female Athlete of the Year her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She attended Vanguard on a soccer scholarship, started all four years and was named team MVP and All Far West Regional Player her senior year. Ms. Cid has also coached soccer for more than 20 years. Her husband, Rodrigo “Chino” Cid, coached soccer at Sage Hill School for 8 years and they have two sons, Sebastian and Santiago.

    Ms. Connolly joined Sage Hill as a founding faculty member in 2000. In 2016, she received Sage Hill’s Liz A. Resnick Award for her significant contributions to the life of the school. In 2019 she was honored with the Fiona Frasier Award for Excellence in Teaching. As Wellness Coordinator, she runs the 9th and 10th grade Wellness program and collaborates with students through Service Learning projects to educate and ensure all students think about and make choices that support their own wellbeing. She also encourages students to lead a balanced lifestyle inspiring compassion and service. She also coordinates grade-level assemblies on wellness topics, teaches yoga and coaches volleyball. Prior to Sage Hill, she served as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at the University of California, Irvine for four years, and she coached the women’s volleyball team at Cornell University for two years. Under her leadership, Cornell won the Ivy League title twice and advanced to the NCAA tournament. Ms. Connolly herself had a distinguished athletic career at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she played both basketball and volleyball. She served as captain of UCLA’s national championship volleyball team and captain of the USA national team at the World University Games in Japan, finishing her career playing in the Italian professional league. Her volleyball jersey (#37) has since been retired by UCLA. Ms. Connolly has completed coursework towards her master’s degree at California State University, Fullerton, and several teacher trainings in yoga and massage therapy.

    Middle School Dean of School Life/Assistant Director of Middle School Athletics, Football Head Coach
    Bio
     
    BJ Crabtree joined Sage Hill full-time as the Middle School Dean of School Life and Athletic Coordinator in 2025. Crabtree is well-known by the Sage Hill community, having served as head football coach in a part-time capacity since 2016. He previously coached and taught at the Pegasus School as a lower school computer science and engineering teacher for 16 years.

    Jacqueline Davidson joined Sage Hill in 2023. With over 10 years of board-certified athletic training experience, Davidson most recently served as Athletic Trainer at Crean Lutheran High School. Her prior experience also includes working as Athletic Trainer for the Stanford University Baseball Camp as well as a faculty member and Director of Clinical Education at Positional Release Therapy Institute in Ogden, Utah.
     
    Davidson earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly Pomona and M.S. in Athletic Training from California Baptist University, Riverside. She’s also certified in Positional Release Therapy.

    Michael Farzley joined Sage Hill as Associate Director of Athletics in 2022. He comes to Sage Hill after more than 25 years as the Director of Athletics at Chadwick School, where he oversaw program operations, scheduling and logistics for high school and middle school athletic teams. He has a bachelor’s degree in physical education and kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach and a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University.

    Bio
     
    Pavle Filipovic joined Sage Hill School in 2017 as the head coach for the water polo and swim & dive teams. He also holds the position of Aquatics Coordinator and College Counseling Coordinator. Coach Filipovic has a strong background in both playing and coaching water polo and swimming. He was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and grew up playing water polo for the famous professional Serbian water polo club, Partizan WPC. He was a member of the Yugoslavian (Serbian) Cadet/Youth National Water Polo training teams from 1999-2002 before moving to the United States to pursue his education in 2005. In the U.S, Coach Filipovic attended Long Beach City College, where he lettered in water polo and swimming and won 2 California State Championships in water polo (2005 & 2006). He then transferred to Cal State Long Beach, where he competed on Men’s Water Polo Team at the NCAA Division 1 Level. He graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in Global Politics. He also holds Master of Arts in Teaching. Coach Filipovic is currently part of the USA Water Polo Men’s National Team coaching staff and Olympic Development Program and he is also a Club Director and Head Coach for Imperial Water Polo Club.

    Physical Health and Wellness Department Chair

    Ms. Ray joined the Sage Hill faculty in 2000 and currently serves as the Physical Health Department Chair, Physical Health instructor, Lightning Locker Store Manager, and Girls Soccer Coach.  She was named Academy League Coach of the Year for the 2003-2004 soccer season. Ms. Ray is also the advisor to Sage Hill’s Make-A-Wish Foundation service learning project and school club. As an undergraduate at the University of Southern California (USC), Ms. Ray was a four-year scholarship soccer player with eight school records. After completing her degree in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology, she served as a graduate assistant soccer coach for USC and also coached a local inner-city boys’ junior high school soccer team. She also worked as a counselor/tutor at a battered women’s shelter in Los Angeles. Ms. Ray has also served as the assistant soccer coach for Concordia University, head coach for the Irvine Lasers Soccer Club, head trainer for Pacific Soccer Club in Costa Mesa and Pacific Soccer Club in Newport Beach, and Athletic Director and Coach for People-to-People Sports Ambassadors. Ms. Ray loves to spend her free time at the beach, at the Colorado River, watching her 3 children, Billy (15), Kasey (13) and Bobby (11), play on their sports teams or playing soccer on her own on multiple soccer leagues.

    After six seasons as part of the Lightning football staff, Mr. Sharpe was named Sage Hill’s strength and conditioning coach in 2014. Mr. Sharpe launched the school’s off-season conditioning program, giving our athletes the option to perform sport-specific workouts on campus year-round, while continuing to work with the football team. Prior to coming to Sage Hill, Mr. Sharpe played professional football for the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins. He attended San Diego State University on a football scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public administration. He also earned a master's degree in coaching and athletics administration from Concordia University. Outside of Sage Hill, Mr. Sharpe works as an independent fitness and lifestyle coach.
