Coach Justin Johnson joined Sage Hill in 2018 as the boys’ volleyball head coach and science teacher. He has coached many local programs in the area including Mater Dei High School, Westcliff University, Woodbridge High School, and United Volleyball Club.  He has also coached abroad while receiving his master’s degree in Finland.  Coaching at these elite level organizations has helped Coach Johnson understand what the top level organizations are doing for their athletes and allows him to bring that knowledge to the Lightning program. Coach Johnson has also played over 15 years of volleyball and still competes in tournaments across the nation. He played NCAA D-1 volleyball with UCSD, played abroad in Finland both D-1 indoor and on the professional beach circuit, competed in an FIVB international level beach tournament representing Finland, and currently competes in AVP beach volleyball events across the country for their qualifier tournaments.
