This is Khara Covington's second year of coaching at Sage. Prior to Sage she coached 3 years at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA and 1 year at King Kekaulike High School on the island of Maui, HI.

Khara's personal track career started at the age of 9 and continued to the age of 29 where she ended her career training under the current world record holder in the men's LJ, Mike Powell, in pursuit of qualification for the 2004 Olympic trials. She graduated from UCI in
1998 where she competed for 5 years in the Big West Conference.

Khara is presently a substitute teacher at Mater Dei and Sage Hill, works as an in home personal trainer and enjoys spending time with family and mentoring high school students at Mariners Church.

Nate Miller has been a member of the Sage Hill Faculty since the school opened in 2000. He has taught in the Mathematics Department for seven years and was the school’s Athletic Director for six. Nate coaches both the Cross Country and Track & Field Teams at Sage Hill. Last years Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams finished in the top 7 in CIF-SS Division V and traveled to compete at the state meet. In Track, the 2007 team had 11 individual athletes and 2 relays qualify for CIF. The team hopes to build on that success this spring.
