Sage Hill Upsets St. Margaret's Streak!

Sage Hill Edged St. Margaret’s in Girl’s Tennis 10-8 to end a five year undefeated in Academy League record of not losing a league match. Every line contributed to the win as Sage’s Liana Korber and Celine Wang took 2 of 3 in singles and Kimia Valkili took 1 of 3 for 5 points from singles. Sage’s Lauren Hsu/Jaclyn Gerschultz and Kimberly Brown/Molly Wang each took 2 of 3 in doubles as Tess Alexander/Amira Tarasida took 1 of 3 to take 5 point from doubles. Sage is now 5-0 in league play while St. Margaret’s is 4-1. Sage plays Oxford Academy o n Friday, Whitney on Tuesday, and travels to St. Margaret’s on Wednesday. St. Margaret’s is ranked #5 in this week’s CIF D2 Weekly Rankings and Sage Hill is ranked #9.

“We knew it would be close and probably come down to games,” said Sage Coach A.G. Longoria. “Our first goal was to not lose any 6-0 sets, which we accomplished and to have every line contribute which we did.”
