Sage Hill defeats Tustin

Once again, rebounding from their earlier defeat in the week, Sage proved to be tough when it counted. With many players still ill or injured, other Sage veterans and rookies stepped up in this game. Captains Alyana Lewis and Sasha Swerdlow both had 6 goals and 6 assists. The Lightning won all but 4 draws. Mutki Patel lead the Sage defense but today was a game for the freshman and sophomores to shine. Giving credit where credit is due, there were 35 shots on goal, and freshman goalie Alaina Collazo had 15 saves. Jenna Shapiro and Claudia Noto both scored 4 goals and had 4 assists. Sophia Witte scored 1 running all over the field and was involved in several hustle plays. Sage played heart and intensity that never let Tustin feel that the game was within their reach. Francesca D'agostino and Chanelle Diaz dominated with interceptions on defense that lead to perfect midfield passing allowing Sage to attack the goal with success. With the 21-15 win Sage again sets a new school record for most goals scored in a game. Sage continues its passion and tradition of finishing Sage Strong against Jserra on Tuesday. Go Lightining!!!!
