Next Outdoor Program – Joshua Tree

Dear Parents and Students,

We are excited to announce that our next weekend outing through the Sage Hill School Outdoor Program will be a rock climbing trip to Joshua Tree National Park over the weekend of December 4-6. Sign-ups for this trip will begin immediately and the cost is $220 including all food, transportation, rock climbing equipment and instruction.

Space on this trip is limited to 14 students, and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. A check made out to Sage Hill School and submitted directly to Mr. McMahon, Ms. Hansen or Mr. Morgan secures a student's space on the trip. Outdoor trips are open to all Sage Hill School students in good academic standing, and financial aid is made available to those who qualify.

We will leave school at 12 PM on Friday, December 4 and return early in the afternoon on Sunday, December 6. The deadline to sign up for the trip will be Tuesday, December 1. Refunds will not be offered for any cancellations after December 1 unless another student is found to take that particular place. Students and parents will need to complete a liability form for Wilderness Outings, who will run the rock climbing portion of the trip.

This is always one of the most popular outdoor trips of the school year. Students learn basic techniques of rock climbing, including how to belay their classmates and teachers, and get to climb in Joshua Tree National Park, one of the foremost climbing spots in the world. The cost of the trip includes professional rock climbing instruction and supervision and all required gear (including climbing shoes, helmet, and harness).

Please click here to find the packing list for the trip. Once you sign up for the trip, we will give you the liability and release form to rock climb. Please feel free to contact any of us should you have any further questions, and we hope to see lots of students out on the boulders!

Sincerely,

Rena Hansen, Brian McMahon and Fred Morgan
