Fall Sports Update

What an exciting fall season of athletics at Sage Hill! We are sad to see the Lightning Fall Athletic Season coming to a close. The last week of October and the first week of November will complete all Academy League and Orange Coast League games, and we will soon move into CIF Southern Section Playoffs for most of our teams.

The Girls' Golf team is on track to finish 3rd in the Academy League and will be playing in the Academy League Prelims and Finals October 26 at San Clemente Municipal Golf Course and October 27 at Santa Ana Country Club. The Girls' Volleyball team is currently 4-1 in league play and maintaining a strong 2nd place in the Academy League and is ranked 4th in CIF-SS Division 4-AA. The Boys' Varsity Cross Country team is currently in 2nd place in the Academy League with a record of 7-3 and ranked 8th in CIF-SS Division 5. The Girls' Varsity Cross Country team is currently tied for 1st place in the Academy League with a record of 5-1 and ranked 7th in CIF-SS Division 5. Boys' Varsity Football is getting ready to start Academy League play on October 30, but has near perfect record in the pre-season of 5-1. Football is currently ranked 3rd in the CIF-SS East Valley Division. The Boys' Varsity Water Polo team is close to completing Orange Coast League play with 1 league game left. An exciting 5-4 win over rival Costa Mesa puts Sage in 2nd place in the Orange Coast League.

Overall, the fall athletic season has seen great success on and off the fields of play. With overwhelming support from fellow students and athletes, all games of the week have been well-attended and full of spirit. Two games of the week remain with Football on Oct. 30 against Brethren Christian at 7:00 PM at Ramer Field and Cross Country in the Academy League Championships on November 3 at Irvine Regional Park at 1:00 PM.
