Message from the Alumni Manager

Dear Sage Hill Community,

Having worn many hats at Sage Hill since the school opened, I am particularly excited to serve in my new role as Manager, Alumni & Parents of Alumni. We have developed an active program to keep our alumni and their parents engaged with Sage Hill long after graduation. Since graduating its first class in 2003, Sage Hill has inducted more than 530 members into the Sage Hill School Alumni Association.

Alumni News and "Class Notes"

One of the most popular ways of staying in touch is our monthly Alumni e-News and "Class Notes" which is sent electronically to all Sage Hill alumni and parents of alumni. The Class Notes detail all the latest accomplishments and adventures of our graduates as they continue to advance their diverse interests in the "real world." Our Sage Hill alumni are winning accolades in college sports, pursuing advanced degrees, traveling across the globe, starting careers and their own businesses, and continuing their service to the community. We could not be more proud of their accomplishments!

Facebook and New Alumni Association Page on Sage Hill Website

In addition to e-mail communication, we have a Sage Hill Alumni Association page on Facebook. We are also pleased to announce the launch of alumni pages on the Sage Hill School website. The alumni section of the website includes all the latest alumni news, information about alumni events and an alumni "spotlight," which features a closer look at life after Sage Hill.

Alumni Events/Assemblies

We've been fortunate to have two Sage Hill alums, Britton Calliouette, '03, and Phil Kaye, '07, come back to campus this year to showcase their talents during assemblies. We also host events throughout the year as opportunities to stay engaged. Thus far in the 2008-2009 academic year, we've hosted an Alumni Town Meeting and the Alumni Winter Event (including a face-off between boys' alumni soccer players and the varsity boys' soccer team). And speaking of keeping in touch, Mr. McNeill had an opportunity to host a dinner for our Sage Hill alumni attending college in Chicago when he was in town for an academic conference earlier this month. He plans to visit more of our alumni who are living outside of Southern California in the future.

Parents of Alumni

With the help of the parents of alumni on our Alumni Relations Committee, we have hosted events, such as our very successful parent of alumni Holiday Service Project at the OC Toy Collaborative in December and a parent of alumni potluck gathering at the home of Phil and Maureen Ramer (Kyle, '06).

Upcoming Events

We are excited about several upcoming events for alumni this spring, including the Inaugural All Alumni Reunion on May 30th and our Sage Hill Care Packages, which will soon be arriving in the dorm rooms of our college age alumni at schools around the country.

Our alumni and parent of alumni program continues to expand with each new graduating class. I hope that all of our families of current students will take advantage of some of the opportunities to get to know our alumni through the website and on-campus events.
I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Sincerely,

Torrey Olins
