Sage Hill School graduated 148 seniors in the Class of 2025, hosting an audience of families and friends for the commencement in Wilkins Town Square.
Graduates walked across the stage to receive their diplomas from Head of School Patricia Merz amid raucous celebrations by their loved ones. Following a traditional ringing of the school’s gong by Student Council President Fiori Lee ‘25, a cloud of green and white confetti filled the air as students left the stage.
"The person you are today is the result of not only your successes but how you responded when things did not go as expected,” Merz said. “…Unexpected moments will continue to shape your life. They are not something to fear but rather something to embrace and learn from. The lightning will strike you again. Sometimes it will startle you. Sometimes it will light the path ahead. And sometimes it will simply remind you that you are alive and capable of so much more than you imagined."
Student speaker Anna Gabriel ‘25 also stepped up to the podium to reminisce about the successes and challenges of high school.
“The truth is, the best parts of life — the ones you carry with you — are never the easy ones,” Gabriel said. “They’re the ones that ask something from you. Your time, your heart, your courage.”
The Class of 2025 matriculates to an exceptional slate of higher education institutions, ranging from rural liberal arts colleges to large research universities.
