Sage Hill Model United Nations Team Brings Home More Awards
Nineteen Sage Hill students attended the 63rd Annual Berkeley Model United Nations (MUN) Conference at UC Berkeley on March 4-6, 2016. More than 1,900 MUN delegates from all over the world participated in the event. Congratulations to Seth Eaton, Melissa Inglesias, Janis Jin and Sarah Saboorian for winning Commendation Awards at the competition.

“Students debate issues that impact the entire world,” said Sage Hill MUN faculty advisor Stephen Schumacher. “Issues such as human rights, peacekeeping, and economic and social development are especially timely topics today. This is one way for our students to learn how to navigate global relations and walk away with problem-solving skills as they debate.”

Berkeley Model United Nations (BMUN) made history in 1952 when it launched the first ever Model United Nations simulation in the world. Since then, BMUN has consistently strived to create an educational environment where high school students from all around the world have had the opportunity to engage in constructive debate and critical thinking through a diverse array of international topics chosen by the BMUN Secretariat, according to the BMUN website.

In November 2015, Sage Hill MUN also won several awards at the Tustin Model United Nations Conference.
