Student Newspaper

The Bolt is the award-winning student newspaper of Sage Hill School, publishing in print and digital media channels.
The newspaper staff produces a monthly print newspaper, The Bolt, and lightningboltonline.com. Sage Hill students most recently earned "Best of Show for Print" among similarly sized high schools at the 2024 Orange County Journalism Education Association Write-Off at Fullerton College. The newspaper staff meets on Tuesdays throughout the academic year to develop news concepts, cover school news, write articles, edit and design the newspaper. Optional news workshops convene on Fridays. Staff members have earned first place in photography, cartooning, writing, novice writing, editorials, and sports writing in regional, state and national competitions. Sage Hill School holds a charter with Quill & Scroll, the International Honorary Society for High School Journalists.
