For the first time since 2006, Sage Girl’s Tennis Team is ranked number one in the first weekly CIF-SS Poll of the season. Walnut, the team that defeated Sage in the quarter-finals last year, is ranked #2. Cerritos, St. Margret’s, and Santa Ynez, who Sage beat 15-3 earlier this season, are ranked #3 through #5 respectively. South Torrance, Rio Mesa, Rowland, Oxnard, and North Torrance round out #6 through #10. Sage has also defeated South and North Torrance earlier this season, each 15-3.
In the OC Register OC Varisty Section the Lightning are ranked #9 in the Top Ten Girl’s Tennis Weekly Poll of all schools in Orange County. Ranked one through ten are 1. Dana Hills, 2. Corona del Mar, 3. University, 4. Valencia, 5. Troy, 6. Laguna Hills, 7. Santa Margarita, 8. St. Margaret’s, 9. Sage Hill, and 10. Esperanza.
