  • Our Mission

We inspire in our students a love of knowledge and the ability to use that knowledge creatively, compassionately and courageously throughout their lives.
Sage Hill School offers a bright, motivated and diverse student body a unique journey of discovery. Our academically challenging, college preparatory curriculum is enriched by ample opportunities for participation in athletics, the arts, leadership, service and a wide variety of community activities.

Our Values

Every facet of a Sage Hill education is shaped by our core values:
Courage • Balance • Community • Service • Discovery •
Knowledge • Excellence • Integrity • Compassion • Creativity

We strive to instill these values and qualities in each of our students, so that our graduates become lifelong learners and inventive leaders, passionate to bring about positive change.

Our Vision

Independent schools typically create strategic plans every five to eight years. Sage Hill developed its most recent strategic plan in the 2019-2020 school year with an eye toward further strengthening programs, keeping the School abreast of dynamic changes in education, and enhancing the student experience with a focus on wellness and development of core competencies, also known as the Six Cs:
While Sage Hill has always nurtured these qualities in our students, the Hamoui Family Sage Center enables the School to take more deliberate steps to ensure not only that each of our programs develop these skills, but to achieve cohesiveness between the many elements of a Sage Hill education.

Accreditation & Nondiscrimination Policy

Sage Hill School has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges since 2003. Sage Hill is also accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS).

Accreditation acknowledges the excellence upon which the school is built: a clear and compelling mission; a rigorous college preparatory curriculum; excellence in teaching; a motivated and diverse student body; and a state-of-the-art learning environment. In addition, accreditation certifies—to colleges, to other schools and to the general public—that an institution is successfully accomplishing its mission; has met rigorous standards for planning, organization, curriculum, assessment, and student support; is providing resources adequate to deliver the school’s programs; and is consistently seeking self-improvement.

In addition to its accreditations, Sage Hill School is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) and the Council for Advancement and Support  of Education (CASE).

Sage Hill School seeks students of character and intelligence from diverse ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, religion or national origin in the administration of our policies and programs.
