    Bio
     
    Kavita Baliga joined Sage Hill in 2022 as the Choir Director and Choral Teacher. She has been a private vocal teacher and coach since 2008. She has taught and conducted choir at the KM Music Conservatory in India. In 2012, she conducted the KMMC Chamber Choir in the “In Memoriam” segment of the Academy Awards. She has a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from UC Irvine and a Master of Music in vocal performance from The Boston Conservatory.

    Catherine Ball joined Sage Hill as a member of the History Department in 2015 after twelve years teaching experience at Rosary High School in Fullerton, Marymount High School in Los Angeles and St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs. A native Californian, Ms. Ball earned a B.A. in history from Pepperdine University and an M.A. in education and California Teaching Credential from Loyola Marymount University. Ms. Ball is a highly experienced AP US History and AP European History teacher and has served as an AP History exam reader.

    Dr. Balossi joined Sage Hill in 2016 as the Dean of Faculty. Previously, he was Assistant Principal at Wydown Middle School in Clayton, Missouri. He held that position for six years. Prior to his administrative role, Dr. Balossi spent 10 years in the classroom teaching English Literature to high schoolers. Dr. Balossi holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature and secondary education from Webster University. He also holds a master’s degree in liberal arts from Washington University in St. Louis and a doctorate in educational leadership, policy and organizations from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Balossi has published multiple scholarly works and his article “In Practice: Developing a New Teacher Evaluation Process” was featured in the Summer 2018 edition of Independent School Magazine.

    Dr. Samari Batres joined Sage Hill in 2020 as a Spanish teacher. She comes to us from UC Irvine, where she has been a teaching assistant since 2014. She was also a Spanish instructor at Chapman University and Middlebury College. She received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and religious studies from the University of Redlands and her master’s degree in Spanish and Portuguese from UC Irvine. She earned her Ph.D. in Spanish and Portuguese from UC Irvine in March 2021.

    Ms. Bedoya was one of Sage Hill’s first staff members. She joined the school before the campus was built. Since then, she has become an iconic figure at the School. Her roles have included welcoming everyone to campus from her post in the main office to her latest position as archivist and library assistant.

    Bio
     
    Teryn Bentley joined Sage Hill in 2017 as the new economics teacher and assistant coach for the cross country team. Ms. Bentley has been teaching since 2007 and comes to Sage Hill from Vistamar High School in El Segundo, where she taught Economics, World History and Language Arts. She was also the advisor for Model United Nations and the coach for the girls’ cross country and track teams. Ms. Bentley has a dual bachelor’s degree in secondary education and American studies from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, as well as a master’s of public administration in Internal Youth Development from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.

    Ashlie Berg joined Sage Hill in 2021 as a long-term substitute for the History & Social Studies Department. She comes to us from Santa Margarita Catholic High School, where she has been a Social Studies teacher since 2013. She previously has worked at numerous schools in Utah and Massachusetts. She received her bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education from Brigham Young University, and her Masters of Education from Boston University.

    Amy Bergener joined Sage Hill in 2022 as a part-time Visual Arts Teacher. She is a visual artist and teacher who has shown in numerous exhibitions in the UK and California. Over the last 14 years, she has taught art, music and figure drawing classes in Glasgow, Scotland, and Southern California. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine art from the Laguna College of Art and Design and a Master of Letters from the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland.

    Mr. Black is the Technology Specialist at Sage Hill School. He joined Sage Hill in 2015. Previously, he was a tech specialist at Blizzard Entertainment and prior to that he was a counter intelligence agent at Geek Squad. He earned his bachelor's degree from ITT Technical Institute.

    Nicolle Bradshaw joined Sage Hill as a History & Social Studies teacher in 2011. She previously taught for four years at Rosary High School. Bradshaw earned her bachelor's in History from UCLA and a master's in Education from Pepperdine University.

    Dr. Brophy joined Sage Hill in 2016 as a Spanish teacher. She has taught at Chapman University and UC Irvine, as well as at the Summer Language School at Middlebury College. She has a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from UC Irvine, where she also received her B.A. and M.A. degrees. A native Spanish speaker, Dr. Brophy has received multiple commendations for excellence in teaching throughout her career. She also participated in the UCI Pedagogical Fellows Program from 2015 to 2016. She served as World Languages Department Chair until 2023.
