Ninth Grade
Ninth graders will focus on gaining a better understanding of the communities that we serve. This will be facilitated through the curriculum in the Patterns of Civilization course. Students will participate in 6 thematic rotations throughout and outside of Orange County to teach them about environmental impact/sustainability, homelessness, education, the judicial/legal system, migration/immigration, gentrification, cultural and historical preservation, mental health, and more.
10th Grade
10th graders will serve as academic mentors to elementary students from three partner schools: El Sol Academy, Scholarship Prep, and EBC Academy. This will be Facilitated through the curriculum in English II. Sage Hill students create and implement 4th grade lesson plans focusing on identity, the Six Cs, and literacy. This will culminate with a celebration and take-home portfolio for the younger students.
11th & 12th Grade
Built upon the foundational and diverse experiences in their first two years of Service Learning, 11th and 12th grade students are equipped to pursue more distinct opportunities that reflect their areas of interest. Juniors and seniors may propose student-led independent projects (IPs) such as Music to Heal or join an existing faculty/staff-led project (FLPs) such as Multicultural Symposium or 3D prosthetics.
