The Sage Hill Boys’ and Girls’ swim team continued their strong start to the season hosting San Juan Hills at University High School pool. Highlights of the meet included a three way tie for first in the Girls’ Varsity 100 yard Individual Freestyle. Our own Liz Frost fought her way to the end to tie with two girls from San Juan Hills in the freestyle event. The Boys’ swim team had good showings in the 200 yard freestyle, Jase Broderick, and the 200 IM, Ryan Sung. Arya capped the Boys’Varsity 50 yard freestyle with a strong 3rd place. Jeremy Dorne improved his times in both the 100 yard varsity butterfly and 500 yard varsity freestyle. Freshman Michael Phan charged his way on his back in the varsity boys’ 100 yard backstroke. In all, it was a great swim meet for the Sage Hill Boys’ and Girls’ Swim Team.
 
 
On Tuesday, March 20th, Sage Hill Boys’ and Girls’ Swim Team hosted their first league meet of the season against Whitney High School. All the swimmers dropped times in their events. On the girls’ team, highlights included Kristen Tsubota's 100 individual freestyle (1:05.58), Elizabeth Frost's 100 individual freestyle (1:07.40), Natalie Stugarella's 50 individual freestyle (29.37), and with great swims from Emma Lacombe and Erin Hong. Sophia Herzlinger dropped time in the 50 individual free to a 30.60. Both Romina Shah-Hosseini and Becca Lynskey, new to swimming this year, improved their individual times. The boys’ team fought hard against their opponents. Jase Broderick, Ryan Sung, Michael Phan, Jeremy Dorne battled their way to second place in the Medley Relay. All the boys dropped time and finished the meet strong in the 4 X 100 Freestyle Relay. Ian Fries cut time in the 50 individual freestyle to a 33.75. Mason Hodges also improved in the 50 individual free with a 32. 43. Next swim meet is a league meet at University High School next Tuesday vs. Crean.
