Boys’ Volleyball

The 2011 Boys' Volleyball team is coming off an excellent 2010 season where the boys lost in a heartbreaking match against Arrowhead Christian in the CIF, Division V, quarterfinals. This year the team and the Academy League have been promoted to Division IV, so the CIF competition should be even tougher.

The Lightning are returning five starters: senior Libero, Kenji Gottner; senior middle blocker, Randall Mycorn; junior outside hitter, Chris Zadra; junior outside hitter, Cole Kirby; and sophomore setter standout, Kent Kawaguchi. The team also welcomes five new players to the varsity roster: juniors, Brooks Westervelt and Zane Keller; sophomores Creagan Lydon and Harrison Ray; and freshman, Nicky Bolous. The boys begin competition the weekend of March 4th and 5th, with a very tough Foothill Tournament. Friday's matches are against Tustin (4pm), Saddleback(6pm), and Mater Dei (8pm), and all take place at Tustin High School. Playoffs will be Saturday morning at a site to be determined. The varsity schedule is online at https://www.sagehillschool.org/athletics; Come join the excitement!
