    Dr. Samari Batres joined Sage Hill in 2020 as a Spanish teacher. She comes to us from UC Irvine, where she has been a teaching assistant since 2014. She was also a Spanish instructor at Chapman University and Middlebury College. She received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and religious studies from the University of Redlands and her master’s degree in Spanish and Portuguese from UC Irvine. She earned her Ph.D. in Spanish and Portuguese from UC Irvine in March 2021.

    Dr. Brophy joined Sage Hill in 2016 as a Spanish teacher. She has taught at Chapman University and UC Irvine, as well as at the Summer Language School at Middlebury College. She has a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from UC Irvine, where she also received her B.A. and M.A. degrees. A native Spanish speaker, Dr. Brophy has received multiple commendations for excellence in teaching throughout her career. She also participated in the UCI Pedagogical Fellows Program from 2015 to 2016. She served as World Languages Department Chair until 2023.
