Ten Sage Hill School Students Tapped as National Merit Scholar Semifinalists
Sage Hill School congratulates our 10 students named as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists on Wednesday.
This recognition is annually afforded to only 16,000 high school students nationwide for their pursuit of academic excellence. Students were entered into the scholarship program by earning top marks on the 2021 Preliminary SAT.
Typically, 95% of semifinalists earn the opportunity to be named as finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Program. About half of these finalists win a National Merit Scholar title.

Director of College Counseling Frank Smith recently met Sage Hill’s semifinalists at the College Counseling Office to congratulate them on their recognition and walk them through the finalist application process.
"We're extremely proud of the hard work and academic excellence demonstrated by our 2023 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists," Director of College Counseling Frank Smith said. "The fact that they've been recognized among the top 1% of scorers nationwide on the PSAT while also learning and excelling in an unprecedented pandemic is remarkable."
National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced as early as April 2023.
