Sage Hill Students Earn 51 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Sage Hill Students Earn 51 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
This year, 21 Sage Hill students were recognized in the 2022 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for outstanding achievement in a variety of genres including photography, painting, poetry, personal essay, short story, flash fiction and more.

These Sage Hill students earned 51 awards in total, which included 14 prestigious Gold Keys, the highest award. Katherine Zeng received two -- one for Humor and one for Poetry -- Grace Yan received two for Photography, Zahra Sarwono received one for Poetry, Sabrina Do received one in Photography, Jennifer Huang received two in Mixed Media, Celine Tseng received one in Photography, Coco Hu received two in Painting, Courtney Tetteh-Martey received two -- one for Poetry and one for Personal Essay & Memoir -- and Melody Yu received one for Personal Essay & Memoir.

“The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is a prestigious nationwide contest,” said visual arts teacher John Gunnin. “I'm delighted to see Sage Hill artists win multiple awards that include the Gold Key, which is the most difficult to obtain. You can see these works displayed in the Sage Hill Art Exhibition on April 13.”
