Sage Hill Athletes Alvaro Corona and Emily Elliott named League Athletes of the Year
Blood, sweat and tears. Often the things that athletes give in their careers -- but sports looked different this past year just like much of the rest of our lives. Practices were limited, fields and courts were used lightly and fans were kept at bay for much of the year.

Nonetheless, our athletes persisted and showed us all that no matter the circumstances they were dedicated to doing the work, and we weren’t the only ones to notice.

Seniors Alvaro Corona and Emily Elliott were not only stand-out athletes, they were also rightfully recognized as League Athletes of the Year.

Alvaro Corona, Express League Athlete of the Year, competed in football, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse during his four years here at Sage Hill. Alvaro earned many accolades and acknowledgments over the last four years but what he will be remembered for most is his strength of character on and off of the field of play.

Alvaro’s coaches describe him as a humble competitor and an outstanding leader who always works to put his team first.

Emily Elliott, San Joaquin Athlete of the Year, competed in volleyball and basketball at Sage Hill. She is an incredibly talented athlete who dedicated time towards improving each day in order to compete at the highest level.  Emily’s coaches describe her as visibly competitive and an athlete that can single-handedly change the outcome of a game.

Emily will continue her athletic career on the women’s volleyball team at California State University, Los Angeles.

We are incredibly proud of these stellar athletes and look forward to their continued success in the future.
