Mock Trial Team Goes 2-0 in First Week of Competition

Sage Hill’s Mock Trial team finished its first week of competition for the 2017-2018 school year with a 2-0 record.

On November 14, the team won the first round against Orange Lutheran, thanks in part to the prosecution pre-trial arguments of senior Sarah Saboorian, according to advisor Diego Izurieta. Two days later, the defense went up against Veritas Classical in the second round and won with junior Josh Cheadle on pre-trial arguments and senior Farooq Ansari on closing arguments. The trial centered on the fictional case of People vs. Davidson.

Rounds 3 and 4 will take place on Tuesday, November 28 and Thursday, November 30. All trials are held at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana from about 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The top 16 teams from Orange County high schools will advance to the playoffs in December.
