Lightning Sailing Preps for Exciting 2017-2018 Season

With 16 returning sailors and two new sailors on the team, Lightning Sailing looks forward to being a presence in this year's high school sailing circuit. The regatta season started Saturday, September 16 at Newport Harbor with the first event of the SoCal Regatta series.

Sage Hill was represented by two teams: skipper Josh Cheadle with crewman Koby Twist, and skipper Ezugo Ononye and first-time crewman Ian Grimm. Josh and Koby finished ninth and Ezugo and Ian finished 11th overall. In one of the races, Josh and Koby placed second.

The Singlehanded Pacific Coast Championships is this weekend, September 23-24 at Alamitos Bay. October brings the team favorite event -- the Sea Otter Regatta -- hosted in Monterey Bay. Also this October, Lightning Sailing is proud to be able to send a delegation of our lady sailors to the Women's Invitational in San Diego. Go Lightning Sailing!
