Sage Hill Baseball Earns National Recognition

Sage Hill Baseball Earns National Recognition
Lightning Baseball is underway for the 2016-2017 season and the team got national coverage recently due to its award-winning, record-breaking season last year. Sage Hill is on a 29-game win streak as of this past weekend. It's one of the longest active winning streaks in high school baseball in America, according to MaxPreps, a media outlet aspiring to cover every team, every high school game and every player in the United States.

"This is very impressive," said Megan Cid, Sage Hill Athletic Director. "Lightning baseball had an unbelievable season last spring. It is great to see the team get national recognition in the press. Our student athletes work exceptionally hard and work together in the spirit of sportsmanship. They set a phenomenal example for all our teams at Sage Hill," Cid added.

Sage Hill varsity baseball coach and teacher Dominic Campeau is equally impressed with his team. "I am extremely happy for our current players and graduates who have made this program what it is today,” said Coach Campeau. “They have been working hard the last several years to show everyone in the community, and in the county, that we are a serious and legitimate baseball program. After back-to-back Academy League championships, a CIF title, the winning streak, and now being nationally recognized, our players understand that working hard and putting the team first actually does pay off.”
