National Artistic and Literary Contest Recognizes Record Number of Sage Hill Students
Fifteen Sage Hill students were recognized in the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Awards 2016 contest. Since 1923, the contest has recognized the “vision, ingenuity and talent” of our nation’s youth. Previous winners include: Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Joyce Carol Oates, Robert Redford, Alan Arkin, Lena Dunham and many others.
A record number of Sage Hill students received awards and submitted entries across 28 different categories of art and writing. “I’m thrilled our students are being recognized for expressing their artistic and literary talent,” said Arlie Parker, Sage Hill English teacher. “Sharing their voices and creativity with a larger community is a great way for each student to feel engaged with our world.”
