We are so pleased to announce that Sage Hill’s annual Multicultural Fair event is moving to a virtual format this year and will be held on
Saturday, March 13!
As many of you may know, the Multicultural Fair is an annual event hosted by the Sage Hill Parent Association that typically includes live entertainment and food booths with cuisines from around the world. It is a wonderful opportunity for students, parents, faculty and staff to proudly show off their cultures and bring global awareness to our greater community.
Unfortunately, last year’s event was canceled out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But we knew we could not let another year go by without some version of the Multicultural Fair, which has become a trademark event in our community. Our commitment to keeping Multicultural Fair alive led us to plan an exciting day of virtual cooking classes, hosted by Sage Hill community members.
This is where we need your help! We are seeking volunteers who would like to virtually host one of these virtual cooking classes and demonstrate, step by step, how to make a dish that represents your culture. There will be two different time slots: 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The maximum time to create each dish should be no more than one hour.
If you are interested in volunteering to be a virtual cooking class host,
please complete this Google form no later than Friday, January 29.
Once we have selected all of our volunteer hosts and dishes, we will send out further information to the community that explains the schedule of the day, the different cooking class options, and how to sign up to attend one or both of the time slots. Participants will receive a shopping list beforehand and, on the day of the event, you will cook along live from the comfort of your own kitchen.
In this new era of virtual events and Zoom classes, we think this will be an amazing way to connect with one another, learn about cooking in different cultures, and eat some delicious food!
