When students come to Sage Hill, they find an atmosphere that is truly unique. They find this atmosphere in our interactive classes and via our world-class faculty. They find it in our attention to student development at the individual level. And they find it in our state-of-the-art campus. Students come to Sage Hill knowing that they have something unique to contribute to our community, and much to gain from our community.

Our students find, in short, their best possible selves.

Classes that transform students into active participants

The mission of every Sage Hill class is to foster an environment of interaction, creativity, diversity of thought and critical thinking. Small class sizes, with an average of 15 students each, are one crucial factor. Our talented, caring and committed teachers are another. Sage Hill teachers bring a passion for their respective disciplines to every class they teach. They inspire not only discovery, but also a love of learning. They remain accessible and supportive both in and out of the classroom, with twice weekly conference times to provide students with a forum to clarify questions, receive extra instruction, or explore a topic in greater depth. In addition, each student also works with an advisor for individual support and guidance. The coursework at Sage Hill seeks to inspire students, and motivate them to meet every challenge with enthusiasm.

Opportunities to participate, engage, and shine.

Sage Hill students have the opportunity to discover and explore areas they are passionate about outside of the classroom – from athletics to the arts, clubs to student government, leadership opportunities to service learning. Each student is encouraged to try new endeavors, cultivate their individuality, and discover where their talents lie. A Sage Hill student may write a play to be performed by classmates, try out for an unfamiliar sport, participate on the mock trial team, or even create a non-profit charitable foundation. A Sage Hill education also takes place in the community at large. The integrated Service Learning program enables every student to perform off-campus projects related to their academic coursework during eight school days throughout the year.

One-on-one college counseling gives students a window into their own futures.

Students at Sage Hill experience a personal and thorough college counseling process. The ninth and tenth grades at Sage Hill focus on academic achievement and engagement. Students enjoy access to the resources of our college office, and the dedicated college counseling team begins to work with each class as a whole. During the eleventh grade, our experienced college counselors work closely and individually with each student to help them understand their passions, ambitions, and aspirations, and find colleges that can both nurture and "stretch" them. The goal of college counseling at Sage Hill is not simply for our students to be admitted to the college of their choice, but to make an informed choice.
