Ninth Grade History Night Apr. 2010

A BETTER WAY FOR STUDENTS
  • Relationship with an advisor: Each student benefits from one-on-one and small group meetings with dedicated ninth grade advisors at least once a week.
  • Challenging curricula that emphasize critical thinking, creativity and knowledge application.
  • Individual support from teachers is available informally as needed, at conference time and in the Academic Resource Center.
  • Student led conferences with advisor and parents focus on all aspects of each student's school experience while encouraging accountability and initiative.
  • Year-long service learning develops students' commitment to their communities through mentoring and instructing public elementary school students.
  • Fall retreat provides a unique three-day opportunity for ninth graders to get to know classmates and advisors in a relaxed learning environment.

A BETTER WAY FOR PARENTS

  • On-going communication: The Ninth Grade Insider, our monthly e-newsletter from the Ninth Grade Dean, highlights events, curriculum, and notable student achievements.
  • Ready access to a student's advisor and the Ninth Grade Dean.
  • Exclusive ninth grade events to connect with other Sage Hill families through advisory gatherings, brown bag lunches, and a class barbecue.
  • Assemblies and exhibitions of student work offer common experiences for students and parents that reinforce learning.
