Robotics

The Sage Hill Robotics Team gives students the opportunity to develop mechanical, electrical, and software engineering skills in the context of designing, building, and testing robots.
The Robotics team also practices business management skills through organizing and strategically planning for events throughout the school year, focusing primarily on the yearly robotics competition offered by the youth organization For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST). With the aim of inspiring young people to be leaders in science, technology, and engineering, the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) features large, sophisticated robots designed to perform specific tasks revealed each year at the competition kickoff event in January. Between September and March, the team typically meets during X Block and after school. During the FRC build season in January and February, the team also meets on Saturdays for several hours.
