College Forum Answers Students' and Parents' Questions

College Forum Answers Students' and Parents' Questions
Sage Hill’s upcoming College Forum event includes valuable information for Sage Hill families and students who are at all stages of the college admission process. Developed by Sage Hill’s College Counseling team, the event is for all grade levels and will help families understand what colleges look for both in and out of the classroom, according to Frank Smith, Director of Sage Hill’s College Counseling. The event is Thursday, February 4 at 6:00 PM and will be held throughout Sage Hill’s campus.

Four 45-minute sessions will be offered, including:
  • Selective College Admission - Guest speakers from Marist College and Harvey Mudd College will discuss how admission teams make their decisions and what they look for in college candidates.
  • State School Admission - Guest speakers from UC Irvine, the University of Michigan, and Miami University of Ohio will discuss what state schools require and how their requirements differ from private universities.
  • Student Majors Focusing on Business - A guest speaker from USC will discuss what it means to be a business major and what factors colleges consider when reviewing applications.
  • Student Majors Focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) - Guest speakers from Caltech and Georgia Tech will help math, science and engineering students learn about different STEM majors and what admission teams want to see in their STEM candidates.
All sessions run concurrently and will be offered twice during the event. Please note: Check-in for the event will be outside of the Johnson Family Library.
